| Well Hung |
As an artist nothing is more fulfilling than having a piece or your work hanging in a museum, even if it is for a short period of time.![]() Recently, I was invited to submit a piece for the Alumni show at the Mulvane Art Museum in Topeka, Kansas for graduates from the Washburn University art program. As you can imagine, I was very excited to submit a piece for the show, but picking the right piece was a job. Luckily after much deliberation, I arrived at DeVriendt’s Desirable ‘46 Drop Top and the piece is huge! 29x40 to be exact. The show opened on April 17th (yes I am very far behind for posting this) and will run through June 21st, 2009. So even though it is kind of short notice there is still plenty of time for everyone to make their way to the Mulvane to check out the exhibit. ![]() In addition to having this one piece in the exhibit, the Mulvane is also exhibiting a few works from their permanent collection of past Pollack Award winners and yours truly has a piece in that exhibit as well. In 2005 the photo Finatical was the recipient of the Charles and Margaret Pollack Purchase Award and has resided in the Mulvane’s permanent collection ever since. So it was nice to see it on exhibit for the first time since the Student Show in 2005 and it is one more piece for everyone to see while they are checking out the Alumni Exhibit. ![]() Now just like a guy on TV pitching a product, THAT’S NOT ALL!! Various works from Juxtaposed Machines/ Josh Mishler are also available for purchase from the Mulvane Art Museums Gift Shop. From May 15-June 15 I am the featured artist in the Mulvane Gift Shop. So you can pick yourself up an original work by Juxtaposed Machines while you are there checking out the exhibit at the Mulvane. However, if you don’t see the exact piece you’re looking for at the Gift Shop, you can always purchase any photo right here off of our website. posted by Admin, 06.08.09 2:41:57 PM |
